Creation's masterpiece

Tonight I have been asked by the young women leaders in our ward to teach a lesson on social etiquette. Something I could use a lesson on myself. Anyway, in preparing for my presentation I found this great quote by David O. McKay that pretty much summed up what I wanted to share with the youth. I thought I would share it with you.

“A beautiful, modest, gracious woman is creation’s masterpiece. When a woman adds to these virtues, as guiding stars in her life, righteousness and godliness, and an irresistible impulse and desire to make others happy, no one will question if she be classed among those who are the truly great.” (Man May Know for Himself, Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1969, p. 261.)

So to all of you beautiful women that I know, who live this quote each day as you strive to raise your children, strengthen your family and your testimony, and do all that is required of you, I want to say thank you for your example.

That's such a great quote. I think that in today's world where women are becoming more and more deceived about what is sexy and beautiful, that quote is a refresher course on what is really important and what true beauty is.

Rachel, you are such a classy woman. I'm not surprised the YW leaders thought you'd be a great role model to present this topic to the girls. Thanks for sharing the President McKay quote. What a different womanly ideal from the one we are bombarded with daily. I love the reminder!
