This Old House

So this past weekend we decided to begin our bathroom remodeling project. The main reason we have hesitated in fixing up the bathroom is because it's our only bathroom. Being without a toilet can have some logistical problems, as you can imagine, but we came up with a solution that I won't go into detail about. Let's just say that we created our own "little outhouse" and that our shiny new toilet will get a very big initiation once it's up and running. So here are some pictures of the demolition. As with many of the projects we have taken on in this 6o year-old house, we have run into all kinds of problems along the way. Harvey is doing a great job and hopefully all this hard work will pay off soon. I for one will be the most grateful for a functioning toilet!

This is one of the few things I did during the remodeling project. I torn up the old floor and this is what was underneath, plus a couple more layers of old flooring.

This is the new home for our old vanity and toilet. Sadly enough they may reside here for quite a while until we can figure out how to dispose of them. And yes, we still have a little snow :( but it will be in the 60s this week so don't feel too bad for us.

Here is our beautiful new floor!!! We even put the kids to work by having them remove the spacers between the tiles. As of today Harvey has just grouted the tile and the hope is that we can get the toilet in tomorrow morning before Harv goes to work. Stay tuned for pictures of the end result.

I had no idea you were remodeling your bathroom. I have two toilets that are free most of the day if you want to come use them! I can't wait to see the end result.
