Happy New Year!

A new year is here and we had a great time welcoming in 2008, (just a few hours early). Harv had all kinds of grand plans for our first annual New Years Eve party. Most importantly, we had lots of yummy food (reminiscent of the great parties we had at Harvey's parents house back in the day before kids). Harv decorated everything beautifully of course, and he even lined the walkway to our house with candles nestled in frozen ice rings made by using our bundt cake pan, We also set up a projector in the kid's room so they could watch a movie in style. The biggest hit by far though, was the bubble wrap that the kids jumped on as soon as the clock struck twelve. It was actually only 8:30, but with the clocks in our house set ahead, the kids were none the wiser. There were party hats, streamers, dance, dance revolution (Strawberry Shortcake style), wistles, and to top it all off-- fireworks! It was a fun night, and as a result the kids decided that New Years Eve was their new favorite holiday. As for Harv and I, we partially cleaned up, saving the rest of the mess for morning, and were in bed by 11:00. I think this party definitely tops the many New Years Eves that Harv and I have spent watching lame New Years specials on TV and eating popcorn.

What great pictures! And what a FAB party! Wow! You guys do things right! I love the candle ice ring idea!
We rang in the New Year at 7 pm at our party with a parachute & balloons in the middle, and whistles and bubble wrap (thanks for the idea!) and then guests drifted off around 8:30 pm. It was the perfect New Year & the first one I've celebrated since kids.

Looks like we missed out on a huge party. But what else would we expect from you two?

Sounds like fun! I guess I should get back into New Year's again. I'm with Rachel L. - we haven't done much at New Year's since Alex was born.
